The Wichita State Spirit Squad consists of a cheer squad and dance team.

The Shocker Cheer Team is a co-ed squad. The WSU cheer team is a visible organization not only on the campus of WSU but to the city of Wichita and surrounding areas. The WSU cheer team also travels to Shockers sporting events and make many appearances around the Wichita area. The cheerleading team at Wichita State is highly competitive and nationally recognized as one of the top teams in the country. The cheer squad finished second for three years in a row at NCA Collegiate Nationals and also received the 2004, 2005, & 2006 Innovative Choreography Award in collegiate cheer for Division I.

The Wichita State University Dance Team Program is home to one dance team. The performance opportunity is to dance on the sidelines and half-time performances for men’s and women's home basketball games. In October the dance team will participate at Shocker Madness, the opening scrimmages of basketball season. Additionally, the team takes part in community performances and events. The dance team represents Wichita State University at a national dance competition.
