Study Abroad Opportunities

  • Wichita State Study Abroad - There are many programs to choose from: short-term classes in other countries led by WSU faculty, semester and year-long exchange programs, summer programs, programs with classes taught in English, programs with classes taught in another language and some that specialize in teaching you a new language.
  • American Institute For Foreign Study (AIFS) has more than 40 years of experience in organizing study abroad programs. We have helped more than one million participants realize their dream of international education and cultural exchange. AIFS provides study abroad programs in 17 countries: Australia, Austria, Brazil, China, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Peru, Russia, South Africa and Spain. They offer scholarships as well 2 - $500 in year 1 and 2-$200 in every year thereafter. Please note that for Engineer of 2020 credit, the class MUST be in a country where English is not the primary language (the course, however, may be in English).
  • IME255 in China - Summer 2013 - Take IME255 in China with a WSU Engineering Faculty member. This is a WSU faculty-led summer course in Beijing, China, that will satisfy the Engineer of 2020 global learning/study abroad requirement.  Beihang University (http://ev.buaa.edu.cn/) in Beijing will be hosting this course but the instruction will be given by WSU faculty.
  • Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship - The goal of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students wishing to study abroad and to diversify the kinds of students who study abroad as well as the countries and regions where they go. Specifically, the Gilman Program offers scholarships for students who have been traditionally underrepresented in education abroad.

  • SIT Study Abroad - many scholarships especially for engineers
