General Admission Requirements

 The Master of Accountancy Program

The School of Accountancy / Wichita State University

The Master of Accountancy degree at Wichita State University is a rigorous thirty-hour program offered by the AACSB-accredited School of Accountancy. As such, admission standards for the program are fairly high. Requirements for full admission include:
 

• An undergraduate degree in accounting, or the functional equivalent of an undergraduate degree in accounting. This includes twenty-seven hours of undergraduate accounting beyond the sophomore level. Potential applicants should review the Master of Accountancy checklist available on the School’s website for more detailed information.
   
• An overall Grade Point Average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
   
• A grade of “B” (3.0) or better in all undergraduate accounting courses.
   
• A satisfactory score on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (www.gmac.com). A score is deemed satisfactory if the applicant’s overall score, and each of the individual test section scores are in the 25th percentile or higher.

Note to International Applicants: International applicants may have to complete significant additional foundational coursework beyond what may appear on a student’s transcript. This can include, but is not limited to, (re)taking business law, financial accounting, taxation, accounting information systems and auditing courses at Wichita State University.
