Palo Alto Research Center (PARC)

The Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) in the Advanced Networking Research Institute (ANRI) focuses on enabling students to expand their understanding of computer network security through experiences in analyzing security issues and network design, troubleshooting real world security problems, and exploring research in next-generation solutions.  Research and interests include understanding the current state of the security industry, identifying and naming applications based on session traffic, reviewing automated virus prevention methods, exploring new techniques for redundancy and load-balancing, and envisioning new roles for the security firewall.

PARC currently employs about 15 students working as Research Assistants.  Students utitilize state of the art firewall equipment deployed in a lab environment that allows them to work completely remote without compromising flexibility.
