The Barton School of Business gives Advanced Standing Exams as part of documenting business students' learning for our accrediting agency, AACSB-International. The Advanced Standing Exams cover the background knowledge classes required for Advanced Standing that are prerequisites for upper-division business courses at Wichita State University.
If you are a current Wichita State University business major or a new transfer student with 45 or more credit hours, you will receive an email listing the Advanced Standing Exams you need to take, and telling you how to reserve a time slot through the Business Advising Center BlackBoard link for your exams.
You will be required to retake the exams that you do not achieve an acceptable score. Only one retake will be required -- you do not have to keep taking the exams until you pass. You will NOT have to retake any classes! The Advanced Standing Exams will not affect your grade point average (GPA).
There are 10 individual exams. For each exam, students take a short (20 - 30 question) multiple-choice test in our computer lab. The questions are similar to those typically given on final exams in the course being tested. We schedule multiple testing times for student convenience.
