Overview: Master of Arts in Teaching-Transition to Teaching Program

Transition to Teaching (T2T) draws from a pool of candidates who have either worked in industry for several years and are ready for a change, or are more recent college graduates who would like to teach. These candidates have a degree in one of the following fields and wish to teach in that field: Art, Biology, Chemistry, Earth/Space Science, English, French, History/Government, Math, Music, Physical Education, Physics, Speech/Theatre, or Spanish.

The T2T program at Wichita State University provides high-quality support and on-site instruction assistance to professionals as they transition into the teaching profession. The two-year Alternative Licensure Program combines graduate coursework and paid teaching in a local school on a restricted license.

A Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) can be obtained by completing 29 hours from the T2T program and an additional seven graduate credit hours of research.
