Margaret Dawe

JPEG Image (250x188)Margaret Dawe, Associate Professor, received an MS from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and an MFA from Brooklyn College. Her first novel Nissequott was a critical success and was issued in paperback by New Directions. The New York Times Book Review listed it in 1994 as a "New and Noteworthy Paperback." She is finishing her second novel and is at work on a third book, set in Wichita.  While a journalist for The East Hampton Star she won awards for best Economic Reporting and Best Health Reporting from the New York State Press Association.  Her literary journalism has appeared in the Star, Long Island's Newsday, and Sonora Review. Her nonfiction story "Maze" will be in the Spring 2013 issue of Antioch Reviewmargaret.dawe@wichita.edu
