Communication Research Institute

The Communication Research Institute (CRI) at Wichita State University offers a broad range of basic and applied research capabilities.  The institute occupies 5,000 square feet of dedicated space in Elliott Hall, a state-of-the-art facility housing the Elliott School of Communication and its integrated programs at both the undergraduate and graduate level.  Its location in Wichita places the institute in the largest media market in the state of Kansas and in the geographic center of a region that has a vigorous and growing communication industry.

CRI mission is twofold:

  1. to develop joint interdisciplinary research teams with academic units engaged in specialized applications of communication, particularly those that are affected by new technologies or regulatory changes
  2. to fulfill applied communication research contracts for government departments, social agencies, nonprofit and eligible corporate clients, at the local, regional and national levels

Charges

A schedule of fees and charges for most research applications is available upon request.  For large or unusual projects, or specialized field programs, estimates are provided at no cost.
