Students seeking to transfer art & design credits from another institution to the WSU School of Art & Design must first be accepted by the University. Upon acceptance, students must submit a digital portfolio of 4-15 artworks to the School of Art & Design office, 302 McKnight Art Center, Campus Box 67, Wichita State University, 1845 Fairmount, Wichita, Kansas 67260 (mail submissions accepted; do not send or submit original works). It is important to broadly represent the student’s art & design learning in consideration of the courses to be granted credit (it is advisable to include a range of different kinds of works), but at least one work from each course to receive credit should be included. Transfer portfolios must be received in adequate time for review during the semester prior to enrollment in order to guarantee credit transfer and placement in appropriate Art & Design classes:
Fall: November 1
Spring: April 1
Summer: August 1
Transfer portfolios and applications received after these dates will not be reviewed until the following semester. In such cases students may still be admitted to the School of Art & Design, but with proposed transfer credits subject to the next portfolio review.
