Memorial and Tribute Gifts
Memorial and tribute gifts to WSU can celebrate a life, a friendship or an occasion. Memorial gifts are a testimony to the meaningfulness of a life which has passed, while tribute gifts remember a birthday, anniversary or special event.
Many special opportunities exist for memorial and tribute gifts, including contributions to the individual colleges, and to specific departments and locations on campus, such as the Ulrich Museum, Plaza of Heroines or University Libraries.
Memorial Gifts
Families often request that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to WSU in memory of their loved one. The gift may be designated to a specific area or college that was dear to the individual’s heart. We provide the names of donors to the family, keeping individual gift amounts confidential. Each donor is provided an acknowledgment on behalf of the family and WSU, as well as a receipt for their tax-deductible gift. View current open memorials accepting contributions. Tribute Gifts
For that person who may “have everything,” a contribution celebrating a birthday, holiday, anniversary, retirement or other special occasion is the perfect gift. We will send the honoree a birthday or an all occasion card detailing your gift, including the area of designation, or if you prefer, we can send the card directly to you to be personalized with your own message.

Making a Gift
Online contributions can be made from our Make a Donation page. Please be sure to include the name of the memorial or tribute honoree and any specifics.
To make a gift by phone using your credit card, please contact Natalie Olmsted, WSU Foundation planned giving associate, at (316) 978-6842.
If mailing a gift, please complete and print the Make a Donation page and include with your check. Checks should be made payable to the WSU Foundation. Please indicate the name of the memorial or tribute designation on the “memo” line of your check.
