Adult Swim Lessons

This class is offered to individuals age 18 & over who would like to learn to swim in a class setting. For more information, contact Sheana at 978-5311.

Beginners: Tuesday/Thursday . September 15 - October 8 . 7:00-7:45pm

Intermediate: Tuesday/Thursday . October 20 - November 12 . 7:00-7:45pm

Fee: $30.00 Members / $40.00 non-member

Learn-to-Swim

Parent & Child Aquatics (P&C): ages 6 months to 5 years
Parents and children participate in guided sessions that help children learn elementary skills, including water entry, bubble blowing, front kicking, back floating, and underwater exploration!

Level I: Intro to Water Skills
Helps students feel comfortable in the water

Level II: Fundamental Aquatic Skills
Gives students success with fundamental skills.

Level III: Stroke Development
Builds on the skills in level II through additional guided practice.

Level IV: Stroke Improvement
 Develops confidence in the skills learned and Improves other aquatic skills.

Level V: Stroke Refinement
 Provides further coordination and refinement of skills.

Level VI: Swimming and Skill Proficiency
Refines the strokes so students swim with ease, efficiency and power smoothness over greater distances.

Dates: Saturdays . September 26 - November 7
no class on October 17th due to fall break

Private Swim Lessons

Offered to children and adults of all skill levels including those with no swimming experience. Thirty minutes of one-on-one instruction with a Water Safety Instructor based on your goals. Call 978-5311 for more information on prices and to schedule your lesson.

Fees: $12/ half hour session for members

The Heskett Center Aquatic staff is dedicated to providing opportunities for water experiences for anyone requesting assistance. If you are interested in swimming lessons or aquatic experiences, please contact Jessica at 978-5289 to set up an appointment.

This service is provided free of charge to Wichita State students with disabilities.
