BUILDING HOURS

Most of the activity spaces will open when the building opens and will close 15 minutes before the building closes. When classes are in session, or during scheduled events, some areas will not be available at specific times during the day. Please refer to the signs posted by those areas or check the open recreation schedule posted on the bulletin boards in the gymnasium.

  • Monday - Friday: 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Note: Heskett Center adult members may sponser up to three guests. All guests and dependents must be accompanied by their sponsor / parent (member) when signing in and remain with this member at all times while using the Heskett Center. Children must also be supervised at all times. Exception: a dependent at least 15 years of age with a valid driver's license or Kansas ID card and a dependent card will be permitted to use the Heskett Center without a parent present. This person may also sponser guest(s). Other dependent children cannot sponser guest(s). Heskett Center rules apply.


GENERAL FACILITY RULES

We hope you will enjoy the fine facilities and programs available at the Heskett Center. Listed here are the building policies and information that will be important as you use the Center. The policies of the Heskett Center have been developed to keep the facility and equipment in good condition and to assure your safety while using the Heskett Center. If you have any questions or need assistance, please come to the Heskett Center Business Office.

Use of the Heskett Center is a privilege. Failure to comply to policies and directions of the staff governing participation, equipment, and/or conduct may result in suspension from the Heskett Center or its programs.

  1. An ID policy is enforced when entering the activity area of the Heskett Center. Please be prepared to give your valid ID, i.e. WSU student card, faculty/staff photo ID, Heskett Center activity card or other Heskett Center ID to the ID checker who will swipe it through the mag-strip reader. This will confirm current enrollment to WSU or paid membership to the Heskett Center.
  2. Smoking and/or chewing tobacco is not permitted in any area of the Heskett Center.
  3. Food and drink are not permitted past the ID stand (exception: water in non-spillable containers).
  4. Proper athletic shoes and clothing must be worn, unless otherwise posted. Shoes must be non-marking soles and fully enclose the entire foot.
  5. Glass containers are not allowed in any activity areas.
  6. No bicycles, roller blades, or pets (except assist animals) are permitted inside the Heskett Center.
  7. The freight elevator located in the east end of the activity wing is for handicap and Heskett Center use only.
  8. It is mandatory that a parent stay with their child in all general activity areas unless the child is 15 or older and has a drivers license or state ID.
