RACQUETBALL COURTS HOURS

Most of the activity spaces will open when the building opens and will close 15 minutes before the building closes. When classes are in session, or during scheduled events, some areas will not be available at specific times during the day. Please refer to the signs posted by those areas.

• Monday - Friday: 6:00 a.m. - 9:45 p.m.
• Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 5:45 p.m.
• Sunday: 1:00 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.

Availability of courts are limited due to classes, athletics, intramurals and other user groups.

RACQUETBALL COURT RULES & RESERVATIONS

The policies of the Heskett Center have been developed to keep the facility and equipment in good condition and to assure your safety while using the Heskett Center. If you have any questions or need assistance, please go to the Heskett Center Business Office.

Use of the Heskett Center is a privilege. Failure to comply to policies and directions of the staff governing participation, equipment and/or conduct may result in suspension from the Heskett Center or it's programs.

1.) All General Heskett Center Rules Apply!!

2.) Handball / Racquetball: Court time can be reserved in half hour segments up to one hour maximum.
Walleyball: Court time can be reserved in half hour segments up to one-and-one half hour maximum.

3.) Court Reservations*:

• For next day or weekend and Monday:
  • Phone Reservations (978-3133): Courts may be reserved by phone for the next day beginning at 2:00pm, Monday-Thursday. Friday after 2pm, courts may be reserved for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
  • Walk-In Reservations: Courts may be reserved for the next day beginning at 4:00pm Monday-Friday. On Friday after 4:00pm, walk-in reservations will be taken for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

• Court reservations for same day:
  • Phone Reservations: Courts may be reserved for the same day and time by calling 978-3133 during Heskett Center business hours.
     

4.) To Claim a Court:
All Players must check in at the equipment room window. Your name will then be checked off in the reservation book.

• Failure to check in may result in forfeiture of court time.
• Courts not claimed within 10 minutes after the reservation time, may then be claimed by someone else.
• The "new" reservation must be placed in the reservation book and checked off in order to become official.
• When claiming a court in use, please wait until the point being played has ended before entering the court area.
• Any discrepencies will be settled by the official reservations book and clock located in the equipment room.
   

5.) Racquetball Rules:

• Shirts and shoes are required.
• Children 12 and under must be accompanied on the court by a parent or guardian.
• Eyeguards are strongly recommended for everyone and may be checked out from the equipment room.
• Shoes and balls that mark court surfaces are not allowed (i.e. black sole shoes and black racquetballs or handballs).
• Racquetball equipment and handballs may be checked out from the equipment room.
• For your safety, thongs are required on racquets and must be around the wrist while playing.
• All metal racquets must have a plastic head guard.
