What is your college major?

Under which category do you wish to apply?

Freshman (fewer than 24 college credit hours; GPA of at least 3.7 or ACT of at least 27)
Continuing or Transfer Student (24 or more college credit hours; GPA of at least 3.5)
Special Admission or International Students. If this is your category, use the text box below to explain why you would make a good candidate for the Honors Program.

How did you hear about the Honors Program?

Students accepted to the Honors Program at WSU take 24 credit hours of Honors coursework which must include HNRS 385 Advanced Academic Writing and HNRS 485 Honors Research Seminar.  These two courses will NOT count towards the degree requirements in your major (although in some colleges they may count towards your general university electives) which means you will have to be willing to undertake some extra classes to successfully finish the Honors Program.

In a short essay (6 - 12 sentences) answer the following questions:

1.  Why do you think the Honors Program requires these extra classes?

2.  How do you think these two classes will supplement and/or enhance your academic and professional development?
