Nationally Competitive Scholarships

Honors students have the opportunity to be advised and apply for nationally competitive scholarships. Some of the most prestigious are below:

Fulbright U.S. Student Program: This grant offers post-bachelor's scholars the chance to go beyond the U.S. borders to promote intercultural exchange of ideas and ways of life.

Barry Goldwater Scholarship: The purpose of Goldwater Scholarship is to provide a continuing source of highly qualified scientists, mathematicians, and engineers by awarding scholarships to college students who intend to pursue research careers in these fields.

Marshall Scholarship: Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the United Kingdom. Up to forty Scholars are selected each year to study at graduate level at an UK institution in any field of study.

Rhodes Scholarship: The Rhodes Trust, a British charity established to honor the will and bequest of Cecil J. Rhodes, provides full financial support for Rhodes Scholars to pursue a degree or degrees at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.

Truman Scholarship: Along with providing scholarships for graduate school, they operate a week-long program for each new class of Truman Scholars that builds community among them and ensures deep mentoring from more seasoned Scholars.

Please contact the Dr. Engber at kimberly.engber@wichita.edu to explore these wonderful opportunities.
