The Lenora McGregor Endowed Scholarship awards up to $26,000 to an incoming freshman student who has demonstrated academic excellence in the past, has an academic vision for the future, and who expresses an interest in advancing knowledge through individual learning. Students do not need to compete in WSU’s Distinguished Scholarship Invitational to be eligible to apply for the McGregor Scholarship.

In a two page essay, discuss your academic and professional goals. In particular, address how the opportunities available to students at Wichita State University will assist you in achieving your goals. Exceptional essays will consider how the learning objectives and requirements of the Emory Lindquist Honors Program will enhance your academic and professional development. Format your essay using MLA or APA guidelines. Please include your name on each page of your essay.

Review of materials may take up to three weeks. In-person interviews of semi-finalists by the McGregor Selection Committee will be scheduled for February, 2013. Students selected as semi-finalists may be required to submit letters of recommendation or additional application materials.
