State of Kansas Benefits for Wichita State University employees are administered in the Human Resources Center, located between the Rhatigan Student Center and the Campus Activities Center Theater. The office is open 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

 Employee Assistance Program (EAP)  HealthQuest and the Employee Assistance Program (formerly LifeLine) are the state EAP programs. Short-term counseling, personal money management, child care information & referrals, elder care information & referrals, healthy weight program, legal advice & discounts, life coaching, etc.
 Employee Services  Access to all state employee benefit information.
 Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)  How to apply for family medical leave.

Health Plan Newsletter The State Employee Health Plan publishes a newsletter for active employees.  See the link on the left for a history of Newsletters.
 Health Plan Providers  List of all health care, dental, prescription and  vision network providers.
 HealthQuest   State of Kansas health and wellness program.
 Healthy Campus  WSU Healthy Campus Resources is a website of health and wellness services on campus.
 Health Coaching Service  Talk to a personal, specially-trained professional health coach; available 24/7 regarding education and support; questions to discuss with your doctor; educational materials at no cost; to manage ongoing medical conditions.  Available to benefited employees and their covered dependents.
 Holidays  Link to State and University holidays.
 Insurance, Dental  Delta Dental is the state provider for dental insurance.
 Insurance, Health  Scroll through to review the state health care providers.
 Insurance, Prescription  Detail of plan provisions and list of preferred brand drugs.  (Prescription drug insurance in included in the health plan.)
 Insurance, Student Employee  Student employees of the University are not covered under the State health plan.  Go to the Graduate School Office or Student Health to obtain application brochures.
 Insurance, Vision  Optional vision insurance provider.
 Kansas Board of Regents Mandatory Retirement Plan  This Investment Agreement is entered into between the undersigned employee of WSU in order for salary deferral contributions to be made to the Kansas Board of Regents Mandatory Retirement Plan under Internal Revenue Code Section 403(b) and K.S.A. 74-4925.  
 KBOR Immediate Participation Form This form allows eligible unclassified and faculty employees to waive their 1-year waiting period and begin contributing to the KBOR Mandatory Retirement Plan immediately.  Employees must submit this to their past employer(s) and have the form returned to Human Resources with 90 days of their hire date in order to be valid.
KBOR Mandatory Investment Agreement This form allows eligible employees to elect their KBOR Mandatory Retirement Plan investment company.  This form is to be submitted after an employee has established their account with either ING (http://www6.ingretirementplans.com/SponsorExtranet/KansasBOR/)  or TIAA-CREF (http://www1.tiaa-cref.org/tcm/kbor/) .  If this form is not received prior to the employee's 1-year anniversary date, their investment provider will default to TIAA-CREF.  In some cases, an employee may waive their 1-year waiting period.  >>See KBOR Immediate Participation Form.  Questions regarding rollovers will need to be discussed with the investment companies directly.
 Kansas Deferred Compensation @ the State web site  Information on the investment options available with ING.
 Kansas Mentors Program  As a State of Kansas employee you have the chance to help close our "mentoring gap."  Each pay period, you are eligible for up to 90 minutes of paid time to volunteer in an approved Kansas Mentors' program.
 KPERS Account Online  A convenient way to keep track of your membership information and help with retirement planning.  You can download your annual statements, create personalized benefit estimates and review your beneficiaries.
 KPERS Papers  Newsletter for active members of the Kansas Public Employee Retirement System.
 Leave for Classified Staff  A link to the WSU Policies & Procedures relating to classified staff.
 Leave for Unclassified Staff  A link to the WSU Policies & Procedures relating to unclassified staff.
 LifeLine  See Employee Assistance Programs.
 Life Insurance -- Supplemental (Employee Only) This is the optional life insurance coverage available when only employee coverage is desired.  Contact the HR office for an enrollment form.
 Life Insurance -- Supplemental (Employee and/or Dependents) This is the optional life insurance coverage available when an employee wants coverage for himself/herself and/or dependents.  Contact the HR office for an enrollment form.
 Long Term Disability This coverage is provided by the University.  Contact the HR office for information if you need to file a claim or have questions.
 Payroll Checks -- Distribution Schedule  State payroll checks are distributed every other Friday.  When payroll falls on a holiday, checks are distributed the day before the holiday begins.
 Preventive Health Care FREE through Network Insurance Provider  See the "Health Plan Comparison Chart".  Scroll to "Preventive Care" to see the coverage offered for various medical and dental preventive care.

Tuition Assistance -- Dependents/Spouse

The Tuition Assistance Program for Spouses and Dependent Children (Effective Date: December 1, 2011) is available to the spouse and/or dependents of all full-time employees at Wichita State University.
