How to Apply for International
Undergraduate Admission

STEP 1 - Print and Complete an International Undergraduate Application or Apply Online.
The name you write on your application must match the name in your passport. If possible, please send a photocopy of the page in your passport which contains your official name. If you do not yet have a passport, please write your name on your application as it will likely appear in your passport. The application and all required application material (see below) must arrive by our deadline.

STEP 2 - Submit the Certification of Financial Support
Make sure to print and complete the Certification of Financial Support. Note: Application materials cannot be accepted by email or fax. Please enclose the Certification of Financial Support with your other application materials.

STEP 3 - Submit the US$65 Application Fee
Your application must be accompanied by the nonrefundable US$65 application fee. This fee cannot be waived or paid after you arrive in Wichita. Applications that arrive without the application fee will not be processed. You may pay by check, money order, credit card, or Western Union. A portion of the application fee may be used to support student recreation and recruitment activities. Note: We cannot accept credit card payments for Nigerian applications. How to Pay

STEP 4 - Submit the US$60 Express Mail Fee (Optional)
If you would like to have your admissions documents sent to you by express mail, please include an additional US$60 for express mail service. If you do not include the express mail fee with your application, your admissions documents will be sent to you by airmail at no extra charge. If you pay the express mail fee and you are not accepted, the express mail fee will be returned to you. Because airmail packages to Africa can sometimes take 6 weeks or longer for delivery, we highly recommend that African students pay the express mail fee to ensure fast delivery of their admission documents. STEP 5 - Submit Official Transcripts
You must submit official transcripts from all secondary schools, colleges, or universities that you have attended. Unofficial photocopies of transcripts will not be accepted. Transcripts cannot be sent to us by fax or email. Transcripts from Canadian or U.S. schools must be sent to Wichita State University directly from the school. All transcripts that you submit become the property of Wichita State University. To be official, your transcripts must be original documents or photocopies stamped as certified-true copies by school officials at the institution attended or by educational authorities (such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Ministry of Education). All credentials written in any language other than English must be accompanied by an official translation in the same format as the originals. Official translations must be original and also be stamped or be certified as accurate by a qualified translator. Student translations are not considered official.

STEP 6 - Special Transcript Requirements
Students from some countries (notably Bangladesh, Pakistan, and many African countries) have Special Transcript Requirements.

STEP 7 - Send Your Official Test Scores
All test scores (such as TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, or ACT) must be sent to Wichita State directly from the examination company. TOEFL/IELTS results are not required when you apply for admission and will not affect our admissions decision. For details on our TOEFL/IELTS requirement, please review our TOEFL/IELTS Requirement.

The SAT or ACT is not required for Transfer Admission. The SAT/ACT is also not required for Freshman Admission but may be an option for some students. For details, please review our Admissions Requirement.

STEP 8 - Submit Syllabi for Subjects Studied at Other Colleges or Universities
Syllabi are not required to apply. If you wish to be considered for transfer credit from another college or university, you may send your syllabi at a later date. Transfer Credit Information

STEP 10 - Add international@wichita.edu to Your Address Book
Your e-mail address is very important to us! We use e-mail to notify students of the arrival of their application materials, the status of their application, and much more. For this reason, it is very important that you provide an e-mail address on your application for admission. To ensure that our automated e-mails are delivered to you, please make sure that international@wichita.edu is added to your address book, contact list, or safe-senders list. Otherwise, our important e-mail messages may be incorrectly delivered to your Spam or Junk Folder. We process most applications in about one week, so be sure to check your e-mail often for updates from Wichita State University. Please write your e-mail address very neatly on your application form.
