On Saturday, September 14, the WSU College of Engineering will host a Beginner Workshop for teachers, parents, and other mentors who are interested in working with a robotics
team to compete in the 2014 Shocker MINDSTORMS Challenge on March 8, 2014. The Beginner workshop is designed to introduce newcomers to MINDSTORMS Robotics and provide tips on forming and
preparing a team to participate in the MINDSTORMS Challenge.
The workshops will be led by Steve Smith, a teacher and robotics coach at Christa McAuliffe Academy (K-8). Steve has brought teams to the MINDSTORMS Challenge for the past 12 years, and has
taught numerous robotics workshops for teachers and others interested in using robotics as a tool to engage students, teach STEM skills, and encourage teamwork.
Robotics kits and laptops will be provided. Space is limited, so register early. Preference will be given to coaches who are starting new teams, or expanding a current robotics program.
Pizza and soft drinks will be provided for lunch.
To register, just complete and submit the form below. Your registration will be confirmed by email.
