This fall, the College of Engineering will host two workshops for teachers, parents, and other mentors who are interested in working with a robotics team to compete in the 2013 Shocker MINDSTORMS Challenge on March 9 2013.
A Beginner Workshop will be held on Saturday, September 22. The Beginner workshop is designed to introduce newcomers to MINDSTORMS Robotics and provide tips on forming and preparing a team to participate in the MINDSTORMS Challenge.
A Building & Programming Workshop on Saturday, October 6, will be more advanced and will focus on how to design, build, and program MINDSTORMS robots.
Workshops will be led by Steve Smith, a teacher and robotics coach at Christa McAuliffe Academy (K-8). Steve has brought teams to the MINDSTORMS Challenge for the past 11 years, and has taught numerous robotics workshops for teachers and others interested in using robotics as a tool to engage students, teach STEM skills, and encourage teamwork.
Robotics kits and laptops will be provided. Space is limited, so register early. Preference will be given to coaches who are starting new teams, or expanding a current robotics program.
Pizza and soft drinks will be provided for lunch.
To register, just complete and submit the form below. Your registration will be confirmed by email.
