Missions and Challenges

Missions

Beginner Level teams will compete on Apprentice Missions. These are basic missions designed for entry-level teams that are just getting started. NOTE: First year teams DO NOT have to participate in the Beginner Level. In fact, teams are encouraged to participate in either the Intermediate or Expert Level. The Apprentice Missions are (basically) the same each year:

Intermediate and Expert Level teams will compete on Professional Missions. Professional Missions are different each year. Professional Missions are designed and built by College of Engineering student groups and undergo a rigorous review by professional engineers to ensure accuracy in measurements, drawings, and presentation. For the 2010 Shocker MINDSTORMS Challenge, there will be six (6) Professional Missions. Detailed information about these Missions will be posted on January 23, 2010, six weeks before the MINDSTORMS Challenge. The Missions will be available on Trial Day, February 20, 2010, for teams to practice.

Look forward to missions designed and built by:

Challenges

Each team will be provided a table to place a display and a notebook of drawings, pictures, charts, graphs, etc. that document the process their team took to prepare for the Challenge. Points from Table Display and Notebook apply toward the overall awards in each level. High scoring Table Display and Notebook is invited to present at the WSU College of Engineering Open House on April 30, 2010.
