What are the qualifications for participating in MSEP?

To qualify for MSEP as a freshman, students must:

  • Have an ACT score of 21 or higher or an SAT of 990 or higher.
  • Complete the pre-college curriculum prescribed by the Board of Regents with a minimum grade point average of 2.50 on a 4.0 scale. (Pre-college curriculum includes four units of English and math and three units of social science and natural science)
  • Live in on-campus housing during freshman and sophomore years.
  • Enroll as a full-time student at Wichita State University and make acceptable progress toward the degree as verified by the department chair.

To qualify for MSEP as a transfer with fewer than 24 credit hours, students must:

  • Meet all of the criteria that apply to freshmen.
  • Have a 2.50 cumulative GPA on all college transfer credits.

To qualify for MSEP as a transfer with 24 credit hours or more, students must:

  • Have an ACT of 21 or higher or an SAT of 990 or higher.
  • Have a 2.50 cumulative GPA on all college transfer credits.
  • Enroll as a full-time student at Wichita State University and make acceptable progress toward the degree as verified by the department chair. 

To continue in the MSEP program, students must:

  • Make contact with their MSEP adviser once a semester.
  • Make satisfactory progress toward their approved majors.
  • Maintain a minimum 2.50 GPA.
