Bio: He received his Ph.D. (1990) from the University of Utah. During his academic career he has received numerous awards for his teaching and research. Dr. Chandler maintains credibility with practitioners by being involved as a consultant or advisor with start-up and growth companies on a regular basis. He is an active member of the Entrepreneurship Division of the Academy of Management. He is a member of the editorial board of Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice and the Journal of Managerial Studies, and a former member of the editorial board of the Journal of Business Venturing. He has served as an ad hoc reviewer for several top tier management journals. His research interests include opportunity recognition processes, the role of ongoing learning in new venture development, and new venture teams.
