Options for Proctored Exams at WSU

For courses that require a proctored exam, faculty have many options to choose from:

JPEG ImageCurrent and incoming WSU students may take advantage of many testing services which include make-up tests, national testing, distance exams, and credit-by-exam programs such as CLEP, DANTES and departmental exams.

ProctorU 24/7 Online Proctoring Service

JPEG ImageWSU Office of Online Learning has a proctoring service agreement with ProctorU who will provide fully online proctoring services, available 24/7 for online and on-campus students.

Authorized Testing Centers

Faculty and Students can contact the WSU Counseling and Testing Center to locate and schedule a NCTA Certified Test Center to meet the needs for students.

Exams Proctored by the Instructor

WSU Instructors may proctor their own exams for on-campus and hybrid online courses, only.

For fully online courses (IIE), instructors cannot require students to come on campus for a proctored exam.


Syllabus Language

The following is language you can use in your syllabus informing students of the above proctoring options:

Exam Proctoring

This course requires proctoring for the following exam(s):

• [exam type(s), e.g. Midterm, Final, etc.)

These are the proctoring options:

1. If you are able to come in person to Wichita State University for the group-proctored exam administered by the department/faculty, there is no fee:

2. You can take your exam 24/7, 365 days a year for a fee through ProctorU. Please go to http://www.proctoru.com/portal/wichita/ to find information on how to establish a ProctorU account, comply with minimum technical requirements, schedule and pay for exams, and what to expect in taking an exam with a virtual proctor.

3. The WSU Counseling and Testing Center can usually help locate an authorized testing center which will proctor exams for a fee if you live outside of Wichita. Please contact our online testing coordinator at the Counseling and Testing Center by calling 316-978-3440 or via email at ctc@wichita.edu. Test fees and available times will vary by location.

4. If you want to take an individually-proctored exam at WSU for a fee, go to www.registerblast.com/wsu and schedule your Distance Education Exam during available testing times at the WSU Counseling and Testing Center on the main campus.
