PLTW Grant Funding for 2012-2013

Funding support to sustain or initiate Project Lead The Way Engineering Programs in Sedgwick County Kansas high schools and middle schools is available for the 2012-2013 school year from a John S. and James L. Knight Foundation Grant. A total of approximately $280,000 is available. Knight Foundation funds may be requested for PLTW teacher training; and equipment, software, and supplies required and used in the PLTW Engineering program. A district can apply for any amount up to the total of available funds.

Wichita State University’s College of Engineering serves as the Grants Coordinator.

Funds are available to Sedgwick County, Kansas school districts only. Prior to requesting funding:

  • Districts must have a plan to implement the PLTW Enginneering program in their school district
  • Districts must select a District Delegate who will be the liaison between PLTW and the district
  • Districts must complete on online registration with PLTW for the district and schools that will implement the Project Lead The Way program in 2012-2013

Submit your grant application and all supporting documents electronically to Karen Reynolds, karen.reynolds@wichita.edu. The deadline for submission is January 31, 2012. You will be notified no later than February 28, 2012 whether your application has been approved and your project funded.
