Project Lead The Way Core Training
at Wichita State University

July 22 - August 3, 2012 

Registration for Core Training begins March 15, 2012 through the PLTW Extranet.

Wichita State University will host four PLTW Core Training Institutes in the summer of 2012. All will be taught by PLTW Master Teachers.

The following two-week sessions will be taught on the WSU campus July 22 - August 3, 2012.

• Introduction to Engineering Design (IED)
• Principles of Engineering (POE)
• Aerospace Engineering (AE)
• Gateway to Technology (GTT Foundation)

Cost for each two-week training session is $2300 which includes:

• Opening reception and dinner on Sunday, July 22, 2012
• Weekday lunches and snacks
• Banquet dinner on Thursday, August 2
• All supplies needed for training

To register:

• Your school district must have completed the Project Lead The Way registration
• You must register online as a PLTW teacher
• You must complete the online teacher assessment (available on the PLTW Virtual Academy)
• You must register online for the Summer Training Institute (available March 15, 2012)

Pre-CTI Workshop: WSU plans to offer a pre-CTI Inventor Workshops for teachers who will be attending CTI, and for current PLTW teachers who do not plan to attend the WSU CTI this year. The workshop, to be held Saturday, July 21, 9:00am-4:00pm, and Sunday, July 22, 12:00pm-4:00pm, will provide teachers with an introduction to Inventor software. There is a heavy focus on this software in Core Training and being familiar with the software ahead of time is a very helpful. The cost for Inventor Training is $200. REGISTER NOW!

All teachers attending Core Training Institutes or Workshops must bring their own laptop with software installed. Please see the guidelines established by PLTW for laptop and software requirements.

Hotel: A special group rate has been secured for PLTW registrants at the Drury Plaza Hotel in Wichita.  The PLTW rate is $109/night (plus tax). The Drury is recently remodeled and sits right on the Arkansas River with many amenities including easy access to walking paths and downtown, free hot and cold breakfast, evening "Kickback" that includes food and beverages, free wireless Internet, and free parking (only for PLTW registrants). Reservations must be made by Wednesday, June 20, 2012 to receive the group rate. Make your resevations now.
