TOP TEN PARKING VIOLATIONS AT WSU

Failure to display a valid WSU parking permit. You must properly display, not just possess a parking permit

Illegal parking in posted Faculy/Staff parking lots. Faculty/Staff lots are restricted to faculty/staff only during the hours posted on the parking lot signs marked with a large green F.

Failure of a Residence Hall student to display the special Residence Hall parking permit. Residence Hall students must request these special permits.

Non-visitor parking in a marked Visitor parking space. Students, faculty, and staff are not permitted to park in Vistor parking spaces.

Parking in a disabled space without an authorized disabled placard or disabled license plate. A violation results in the vehicle being immobilized with a wheel lock and costs for University Police to remove the wheel lock. Fines may be doubled or tripled for faudulent use of a disabled placard or license tag.

Non-authorized parking in a marked reserved parking space. A violation may result in the vehicle being immobilized with a wheel lock; the vehicle may be towed; or, an enhanced fine.

Parking in a fire lane or fire hydrant lane. These areas are marked with fire lane signs.

Parking in a yellow zone and parking in a service zone.

Parking a car in a motorcycle zone or a motorcycle in a regular vehicle space.

Parking in areas not identified or specifically marked for parking. Parking spaces in parking lots are designated with white stripes on three sides.
