Psychology Department Orientation

Welcome, new and returning Fall 2012 Psycholgoy graduate students! Here you will find details about the Psychology Department's Orientation.

This year, Orientation will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the Eugene M. Hughes Metropolitan Complex in Room 132. The Metropolitan Complex is located at 5015 E. 29th Street North, Wichita, KS 67220 (Map).

New students will first meet at WSU in Jabara Hall Room 444 at 8:30AM. After a few activities, new students will head to the Metrolpolitan Complex at 9:45am. Returning students will join at 10:00am.

A light breakfast (coffee, juice, and muffins) and lunch will be provided.

AGENDA:

8:30-8:45 - New students and select faculty arrive (Chair, Coordinators) in JB 444 for coffee, introduction to faculty
8:45-9:00 - Paperwork with Judy and Marci
9:00-9:45 - Use this time for faculty to meet first year students (all other faculty arrive)
9:45-10:00 - Prepare to head to metroplex
10:00-10:15 - Mingle, snacks at Metroplex
10:15-10:45 - Welcome messages from Dr. Chaparro, Dr. Masud, and someone from provost's office
10:45-11:45 - Program specific breakouts so all students can get with appropriate faculty
11:45-12:15 - Lunch
12:15-12:45 - PGSO informational session - required for new students

GTA Workshop

NEW graduate students are required to attend a GTA Workshop. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 in  Ahlberg Hall Room 201 from 1:30PM to 4:00PM. Here is a campus map.

Other Important Dates

Tuesday, August 14, 2011 - Lunch with new students, orientation committee, and department chair. Il Vicino (pizza) in Bradley Fair (21st and Rock Rd.) at 11:00am. Please meet in the Lounge in the department before 11.
