Great trip to the San Diego Crew Classic for Shocker Rowing! Special thanks to everyone who donated to this event and helped make it possible. There is NO way we would have been able to attend without the generous support of everyone who donated.

Saturday brought the qualifying heats and saw both crews advance to their respective grand finals. The men finished third out of eight in their heat from lane 8. The women, racing from lane 4, finished .1 seconds out of second place and finished third of the eight crews in their heat.

Sunday saw an increase in the winds and it was a direct cross from port to starboard so the higher numbered lanes saw more chop. The men raced from lane 6 and had a tough go of it. They rowed hard but were only able to come away with a 6th place finish. The women raced in lane 5 of the eight crews. The final was stacked at six of the eight crews were ranked in the top ten nationally in their respective divisions. The women finished a close 4th behind three ranked programs. However, they did finish ahead of NCAA DII 5th ranked U of California San Diego, and ACRA nationally ranked 7th Orange Coast College and 5th U California Davis.

Overall, it was a tremendous experience for our athletes and program.
