Rhatigan Student Center Celebrates 50 Years For the past 50 years, Wichita State's Rhatigan Student Center has served as the heart of campus. As the venue for food services, the University Bookstore, meeting areas and recreational facilities, the student center has been and remains a focal point for thousands of Shockers. The center also houses the Student Activities Council, the Student Government Association, the Center for Student Leadership and the 16-time national champion Shocker Bowling Program. As a sign outside the east entrance clearly states, the RSC is the Symbol of Student Life and Activity. Letter to the Future Contest Winners Read the winning letters that students wrote for the Letter to the Future contest. The three letters were chosen to be buried in the 2059 time capsule. As you remember, Rhatigan Student Center celebrated its 50th birthday on May 11th of last spring. We hope you enjoyed the opening of the time capsule from 50 years ago, the birthday cake, free coffee mugs, as well as the chronological display at the galley. The celebration is just getting started! We are building a contemporary time capsule which will be sealed within RSC for the next 50 years. Submit your ideas for what best represents the RSC today. Only 5 students will be picked to have their ideas travel to 2059. Don €™t miss out on this unique opportunity. Show future Shockers what best resembled 2009. In 50 years students just like you will watch the opening of this year €™s time capsule. Would your ideas be included? Entry forms are available at the Information Desk of the Rhatigan Student Center or the Director €™s Office (Room 214) at the Rhatigan Student Center. Forms can also be downloaded here. Entries must be submitted by October 21, 2009 and can be dropped off at the Director €™s Office (Room 214) in the Rhatigan Student Center or fill out the form online.
