Writing Marathons

A writing marathon is simply writers writing with writers for an extensive period of time. Groups of 3 - 5 writers launch out into an unfamiliar setting and stop at a statue, coffee shop, museum, look for inspiration and write for 1--15 minutes. Then each one in turn reads their writing to the others in the group. After each reading only a simple, "Thanks, for sharing," is allowed from the listeners. Once everyone has shared the group moves on to the next stop they have selected and repeats the steps as before. Two to three hours, or more yields a number of pieces that can be revised later. The SCKWP sponsors a Writing Marathon each spring, summer and fall. See the calendar for the next SCKWP Writing Marathon.
