101, Introduction to the University. Wichita State University student success courses introduce entering college students to strategies designed to enhance their academic success and personal growth. Taught by supportive and committed faculty, the courses provide students with academic skills, life competencies and knowledge of institutional policies and resources. These introductory courses are offered by every college within the university and contain information specific to that college. In addition, topics such as time management, library skills, and study skills are presented. In order to facilitate student interaction, each Introduction to the University course has, in addition to an instructor, a Peer Leader. This is a student who has successfully completed the course and can act as a resource for the students currently enrolled in the course.
