UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS

High School Guest Program

Students who attend Wichita State before graduation from high school are considered guest students. Students are eligible to apply for guest admission after the completion of their sophomore year; requests for guest admission by younger students will be considered on an individual basis.

Requirements

In order to be a high school guest student at WSU, students must:

  • have completed their sophomore year and
  • have at least a 3.00 high school cumulative GPA.

Renewals

Students who wish to renew as a guest student for subsequent semesters must also maintain a 2.00 WSU cumulative GPA.

Exceptions

Exceptions may be requested by a high school counselor for students who do not meet these requirements. Students wishing to request exceptions will need to submit the the Guest Student Exception form (available in the WSU Guest Forms section below) and a copy of their current class schedule.

High school guests may take up to six credit hours each semester. Students wishing to take more than six hours must seek permission from the Office of Admissions by submitting the Maximum Credit Hour Exception form (available in the WSU Guest Forms section below) and a copy of their current class schedule.

Admission to WSU does not constitute permission by an academic department to take courses; all prerequisites for a course must be met before the student enrolls. Students who are admitted as a high school guest are NOT guaranteed degree-bound admission after high school graduation.

Admissions deadlines

The Admissions deadline for High School guest students will be approximately one week prior to the first day of classes for each semester. The deadline will be posted below each semester. This deadline is for new and returning High School guests taking a course on a WSU campus only.

The deadline for the Fall 2013 semester has passed. Please apply before the deadlines below:
