Marketing Organization
At WSU, marketing is everyone's job. Beyond University Relations, a variety of people give leadership to different marketing functions in their own organizations. As Shocker marketers, we seek to work together to best serve our university's marketing and communication needs.
- The Shocker Marketing and Recruitment Team (SMART for short) is a professional organization open to faculty and staff with marketing or communication responsibilities or interests. This group meets several times each year to share ideas, learn new things, and develop stronger working relationships with each other. For more information, contact Amy Schafer.
- WSU's Marketing Advisory Group is an advisory panel made up of university officials and community experts. This group meets twice each year and advises the associate vice president of university relations on marketing direction and policy.
- The Marketing Council is an organization of marketing representatives from the university's colleges, libraries, affiliated corporations and admissions offices. The council advises the associate vice president of university relations on university-wide marketing issues and keeps each other informed about marketing plans, initiatives and priorities.
