Noncredit Classes

Through the Continuing Education Department, we are offering these FUN, noncredit classes for the spring '13 session at the South Campus. These popular classes will fill fast, please enroll early. we are scheduling more noncredit classes for fall '13, please check back soon for the full roster. If there is any noncredit class you would like to see scheduled, please let us know.

BASIC PRINCIPLES OF LANDSCAPE DESIGN

A four-week lecture series focusing on the basic principles of landscape design applied at a residential scale. Topics include: basic design principles, the development of design objectives, conceptual design and planting design including Xeriscaping, and Edible landscaping.
Class length:  4 weeks, Wednesdays, February 6 – 27

LEARN TO KNIT

Knitting is the perfect way to get back to the basics....in this world of fast, easy and replaceable....this craft is the perfect way to go green. Not only can you create everything from a wonderful wardrobe to a child’s toy, it is one of the most calming and love giving traditions. There is nothing like getting or giving something that has been hand made. Through this basic knitting class you will learn the basic stitches and pattern reading of this wonderful craft, finishing with designing a wonderful project of your own....a list of all that you need will be given with your class confirmation.

Class length:  6 weeks, Mondays, February 25 – April 1

THE NEW TESTAMENT:  STORY & HISTORY

This class will cover both the story in the New Testament and early Christian writings. We will also examine the history of how these texts were written and what we can know about the lives and times of the communities that produced them.
Class length:  10 weeks, Tuesdays, February 5 – April 9
Time:   2 – 4 p.m.       Fee: $109 person
