Students who have never taken classes for Wichita State University, you will need to be admitted to the university. This process requires different documents and processes depending on the status that you are applying for.
All applicants must submit an application for admission and a $30 application fee. Transcripts and ACT or SAT scores must be sent directly from former schools and testing agencies directly to Wichita State. Students may not hand deliver official documents to the Office of Admissions. Transcripts and testing scores may be sent to the Office of Admissions at the address listed below.

Please note: Students who have been a degree-bound student at WSU do not need to reapply for admission, however student files become inactive after 2 years, requiring reactivation. High school guest student also do not need to apply again, but do need to contact the Admissions Office to update their admission status.

This enrollment status is intended for those who are not degree seeking and have not taken classes for another university within the past 2 years.

1. All degree-bound freshmen and transfer students with fewer than 24 transferable hours must schedule a one-on-one advising appointment with an academic advisor in the students' field of study.
2. After meeting with an advisor and enrolling in classes, all new students are required to attend a New Student Orientation program.

Wichita State University students wishing to receive federal financial assistance for university classes must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The sooner this form is submitted the greater the opportunities for financial assistance. This form can be access and submitted online by going to the FAFSA web site. Please review the Financial Aid information on contact Wichita State's Financial Aid office at 316-978-3430 if you have additional questions.

1. Students may print a copy of the Wichita State Registration Worksheet to record class information for the classes enrolling.
2. Refer to Wichita State University satellite campus (West Campus near 37th St N and N Maize Rd; South Campus in Derby High School) schedule inserts to choose your classes. You may also refer to Wichita State University printed schedules or web based schedules to aid with your class selection.
ACCESSING MYWSU
- All WSU enrollment is processed online through the MyWSU portal located at http://mywsu.wichita.edu/. You will need to have your MyWSU ID number (Format: a123b456) in order to log in. If you do not have this information, you may look it up through this link or directly off the MyWSU sign in page.
- If you have your MyWSU ID number, but have never logged into MyWSU before, you will need to establish your password. On the http://mywsu.wichita.edu/ page, select "Manage Your Password" located below the sign in area on the screen. On the next screen, enter your MyWSU ID number and select "Setup Password." Follow the steps on successive screens to complete the password selection process.
USING MYWSU
1. Log in to MyWSU.
2. Click on the "Student Resources" tab near the top of the screen.
3. In the "Registration/Payment" block, select the first link Register or Pay (at Self Service).
4. Under the "Main Menu," select "Student Menu."
5. Under "Student and Financial Aid," select "Registration."
6. Under "Registration," select "Register, Add, or Drop Classes."
7. On the drop down menu under "Registration Term," select the correct semester and click on the "Submit" button.
8. Under "Add Classes Worksheet," there are several small blanks for entering "CRN" (Course Registration Number) numbers. Enter the CRN numbers for the classes being registered for and click "Submit."
9. If there is space in the classes, and there are no holds, the registered classes will be listed on the "Add or Drop Classes" screen below "Current Schedule." If there are problems, the class will not be listed under "Current Schedule" and a description of the error will be displayed instead. The below chart lists the major errors and how to work to remedy the error.

| Basic Skills / 48-Hour Hold | All Basic Skills Course requirements of the General Education program must be completed with a "C" or better grade by undergraduated enrolled in a Wichita State University bachelor's degree program within the first 48 credit hours earned toward their degree. |
| Audit Credit | Students are permitted in credit courses on a non-credit basis with appropriate approval under an auditor classification. There is no difference in tuition costs between enrolling in a class for credit or non-credit. An audited course will appear on a transcript as AU. Enrolling for AUDIT credit can only be done in person at the Registration Window, 102 Jardine Hall, or at the West Campus. |
Three options are available for tution payment. Wichita State University accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Shocker Card, check, or cash.
Payment Online
1. Log in to MyWSU.
2. Click on the "Student Resources" tab near the top of the screen.
3. In the "Registration/Payment" block, select the first link Register or Pay (at Self Service).
4. Click on "View/Pay My Bill" to display the tuition bill.
5. The bottom of the screen displays the payment options available online (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Checking Account).
6. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete your secure transaction.

There is no fee for your first Shocker Card but if a card is lost or stolen, there is a replacement cost of $10, which may only be paid at the Shocker Card Center.
Students must be currently enrolled in classes to obtain a new Shocker Card and must bring one of the following items to a Shocker Card location:
Students paying online or by mail should be sent a parking hang-tag. If a parking permit has not been received by a week into the semester, a hang-tag or decal may be picked up from the Campus Police Department or the West Campus.
Permits are required to be displayed when parking on the main campus, the West Campus, or at the Metropolitan Complex.
Textbooks for classes may be purchased from the main campus bookstore, located in the Rhatigan Student Center or the West Campus bookstore (main campus class books must be ordered for delivery to the West Campus bookstore). Additionally, books may be purchased online at http://www.wsubooks.com/STORE1/Home.aspx.
