Wichita State University (WSU) seeks an experienced IT executive for the position of Associate Vice President (AVP) and Chief Information Officer (CIO).  The successful candidate will be a transformative leader who will provide strategic vision and management to further the technology needs in support of the administrative, academic and research missions of WSU.  Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the CIO is responsible for managing all enterprise-level technology infrastructure and technology-related academic and administrative services.  The CIO works in partnership with the AVP/Chief Data Officer (CDO) to ensure security, data integrity and delivery of information to university personnel for decision-making and strategic planning, and can serve in the other’s absence for their respective areas.

The University is located in a diverse metropolitan area of approximately 640,000, located in the I-35 corridor.  The economic base of the region is in technology-based industries and health care, and a higher percentage of Wichita’s metropolitan GDP is derived from exports than any other metropolitan area in the country.  Wichita State University expects to take a leadership role in diversifying the region’s economy and enhancing the quality of life.
