SAC 2012-2013 Executive Board


President : Tessa Cattermole

Tessa is a senior at Wichita State, studying biology with an emphasis in pre-med. She was born in Australia but attended high school in Wichita. Her favorite SAC program is the Family Carnival. A Fun fact about her is that she loves nerdy science jokes.

"I joined SAC mostly to meet people. Since joining, I have made some of my best friends and learned a lot of valuable skills like how to speak publicly with confidence."

Vice-President of Promotions : Ashley Brink

Ashley is a transfer student and a SUPER senior who is quadruple majoring in Sociology, Psychology, Women's Studies and Criminal Justice. Ashley loves spending free time with her husband and volunteering at Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center.  Her most memorable SAC program is the Fall 2011, Condom Casino!

"I want to make a difference on campus by providing unique and exciting events for WSU students."

Arts Chair : Jessica Phommachanh

Jessica is a junior at Wichita State majoring in Business Administration. She was born and raised in Wichita and now lives in Andover, Kansas. She has a wide range of interests including poetry, Tae-Kwon-Do, video games, anime and traveling. Mainly though, Jessica just really loves to learn!

"Being a part of SAC is like being a part of a huge support system that encourages you to grow. Every day I'm learning something new! It's a lot of fun!"

Campus Traditions Chair : Amber Sevart

Amber is a sophomore at Wichita State majoring in Elementary Education. She grew up in Wichita and has always wanted to be a Shocker. Amber enjoys spending time with friends, crafting and Shocker Basketball. Her favorite SAC event is Shocktoberfest.

"I joined SAC to become more involved on campus. It has definitely added to my college experience and helped me grow as a person!"

Family Chair : Donna Chanthaboury

Donna is a junior majoring in business administration. She was born in Sacramento, CA and has lived in Kansas since she was three. Donna graduated from Campus High School in Haysville. Her hobbies include playing music, reading, knitting and playing with her black lab, Sparky. A fun fact about her is that she comes from a family of teachers; her mom and two of her aunts.

"I joined SAC in an effort to get out of my comfort zone and meet new people."

Gaming Chair: Derek Owen

Derek is a senior majoring in accounting. He is from Wellsville, NY but has lived in Wichita the majority of his life. Derek’s favorite SAC event is Gamefest and he enjoys spending time with friends and playing video games.

”I joined SAC to become more involved at Wichita State. My time in SAC has been an incredibly rewarding experience full of amazing people.”

Shocker Night Life Chair : Shannon Glover

Shannon is a sophomore majoring in English Language and Literature. She absolutely loves to read and fantasy is her favorite genre. She has been married for about a year and her husband is a soldier. Her favorite way to spend her time is to sit in the Starbucks cafe at Barnes and Noble with a good book and a double chocolate chip cookie.

"SAC has added so much to my experience at WSU. My first year of college was much tougher than I expected, but SAC kept me from failing. SAC has enhanced and invigorated my college career and I will always be thankful for that."

Shocker Spirit Chair : Rachel Tuck

Rachel is a Jersey girl and a third year at WSU trying to earn a triple major in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice and Biology with a minor in Chemistry. In her out of class time she competes for WSU’s Rowing Team. Long Live the Yellow and Black!

“SAC has become my home away from home. I am from a different state and when I first came to Kansas I didn’t know anyone. Since joining SAC I have made so many friends and fond memories that I feel like I’ve been here forever.”

Wu's Renewal Chair: Amelia Westlake

Amelia is a sophomore at Wichita State majoring in Biology with an emphasis in research. She has lived in Wichita her entire life and has been a Shocker since birth. Her favorite SAC event is Little Shock of Horrors. She loves dinosaurs and is obsessed with geeky television series.

"I joined SAC to become more involved on campus. Being a part of such an awesome program has defnitely made me at least 20 % cooler."

Vice Chair of Promotions: Ashley Donnelley

Ashley is a freshman going to WSU for Pre Pharmacy and is hoping to get accepted into a pharmacy school in 2 years. She was born and raised in Wichita, KS and has always planned on attending WSU. Her favorite SAC event is the Family Carnival. Ashley really enjoys reading, eating chocolate and hanging out with her cats.

"I joined SAC because I wanted a way to feel connected to the school I attend. I didn't realize that the people were so awesome! I feel like I've known everyone forever, and I really feel like I'm a part of the team!"
