License Plate Program

Now you can sport WU on your license plate – and support student scholarships at the same time.
For a $35 annual royalty payment to the WSU Alumni Association, WU rides with you everywhere you go. And it's all for a Shocker of a cause! Every dollar of the royalty fee, minus a $5 administrative fee, goes directly to student scholarships.
 

FEES & PLATE CERTIFICATES
Once payment is received, you will be issued a "proof of purchase" certificate. Your WSU license plate will be issued upon vehicle registration and payment of the regular state license fee to your county treasurer, who will collect the certificate when you apply or renew your tag. There is a one-time special plate issuance fee of $48.50 for the cost of manufacturing the plate. This fee will be payable to the county treasurer when you pick up your tag. Your annual royalty payment will be due to the Alumni Association 30 days before your regular tag renewal month.
WHO QUALIFIES
If you're a Kansas resident and own a passenger vehicle or light truck (12M or less) registered in Kansas, you qualify for this special license plate. The plate is valid based on annual renewal of a logo royalty fee and annual vehicle registration.
SORRY, NO PERSONALIZATION
The Kansas legislation that created the university license plates doesn't provide for personalization of tags with words or phrases. The tag numbers are issued at random.
AVAILABILITY OF PLATES
Plates are available at your county treasurer's office once your payment has been received and a purchase voucher has been sent to you. QUESTIONS

As of 3/18/2013 you can renew your Shocker tag at your local DMV office or on-line through KS Web Tags.

 

Your annual $35 donation to the WSU Scholarship License Plate Program will now be included in your annual tags/taxes statement from your treasurer.
