Know a deserving Shocker who should — like last year's honorees Bob Young ’61, Jim Erickson, Joan Wagner '99/04, Joyce Cavarozzi and Junetta Everett '79 — be recognized for personal or professional achievement, service to WSU or contributions to society?

Nominations for WSU Alumni Awards are accepted and processed year-round. However, for a nominee to be considered for the current class of honorees, your nomination must be received by Oct. 3, 2016.

The ceremony to honor award winners will be held April 20, 2017, and will continue the alumni association's proud tradition of celebrating outstanding Shockers.

Established in 1955, the Achievement Award is the highest honor given to Wichita State alumni by the alumni association. Recognition Awards are presented to alumni, friends of the university and faculty or staff for outstanding public service and/or particular service to WSU.

The Laura Cross Distinguished Service Award recognizes WSU employees or retired employees who have given exceptional service to the university. The Young Alumnus Award is presented in recognition of the accomplishments of a WSU graduate 40 years old or younger.

We encourage everyone to nominate an individual for an alumni award. Please read the descriptions of each award and follow the criteria closely.  All nominees, as well as their nominators, will be kept confidential.
