Shocker Honors Scholar Banquet
Help bring the best and brightest students to Wichita State by becoming a member of the committee that assists the Office of Admissions with the recruitment of new Shockers! Help to plan the annual Shocker Honors Scholar Banquet held each fall to host high school juniors in the top ten percent of their class. Assist by identifying student meal sponsors, attend the banquet and serve as a table host, or do both and enjoy the opportunity to share your Shocker pride with future alumni.
Time involved: 2-3 meetings – late summer / early fall.

Rockin' the Roundhouse (formerly Shocker Auction)
Help plan for the party of the year! The Alumni Association has partnered with the Athletic Department to host an event like no other! Rockin’ the Roundhouse will feature great food and beverages, games galore, exciting entertainment, a super silent auction and a live auction with unique items only the Alumni Association and Shocker Athletics can provide. The house will be rockin’ for this unforgettable event. You can help by securing items for the Auction Committee, coordinating event entertainment including restaurant sponsorships on the Entertainment Committee, or selling tickets and obtaining event sponsorships on the Sales Committee. Whatever your pleasure, it’s easy to find a way to get involved in this great event and it’s sure to be one you won’t want to miss!
Time involved: April - November (varies with area of involvement).

Distinguished Alumni Speaker Breakfast Series
Help support a tradition in alumni programming by attending the association's annual alumni speaker events. And, consider being a part of the selection process that chooses some of the WSU's most distinguished alums to be guest speakers for the Distinguished Alumni Speaker Breakfast Series.
Time involved: 2-3 meetings in early spring.

Shocker Open Golf Tournament
FORE! Get into the swing of things; join the committee that plans our annual Shocker Open Golf Tournament. Being behind the scenes is a great prelude to being on the greens.
Time involved: As needed throughout the year – mostly between January & May.

Shockers for Higher Education (formerly Legislative Affairs)
This committee assists the University with legislative issues important to higher education at the local and state level.
Time involved: As needed during the legislative session.

Membership Solicitation & Retention
Assist with the planning and implementation of membership solicitations to secure new members and retain members, both alumni and friends of the association, locally and across the nation.
Time involved: Meetings as needed.

If you are a former SAA member and remember the great times in the Student Alumni Association, then become a part of the alumni committee to assist in the growth of this great association. Time Involved: Meetings as needed.

Travel Committee
Members of this committee will help to determine interest in various travel locations, provide direction in planning destinations for alumni group trips and help generate ideas for marketing and promotion.
Time involved: 1-2 meetings between February & April.

Young Alumni Connection
This newly formed committee will be focusing on creating activities for our recent graduates. It will provide them networking opportunities and let them become active in the Alumni Association.
Time Involved: This will vary and be dependent on time-line to create and implement the program.

Senior Sendoffs
Share your Shocker pride with soon-to-be fellow alumni and help congratulate WSU seniors as they prepare to graduate. Join university representatives in hosting a table graduating seniors at an annual fall luncheon or spring breakfast-or at both! You'll be supporting the alumni association by encouraging these future Shocker grads to take advantage of the association's free, senior special, one-year membership and maintain their ties with the university.
Time Involved: Luncheon in Nov. and/or breakfast in April.
