Rachelle Meinecke is the Director of the Lowell D. Holmes Museum of Anthropology. She teaches the Museum Studies courses for the Anthropology department and is the coordinator for the Museum Studies certificate program. This program is an interdisciplinary program that prepares students for careers in the museum field and includes courses from Anthropology, History, Art History and Public Administration. In her classes, students learn to properly handle artifacts and to conserve and preserve artifacts for display as well as for future generations. Meinecke also teaches her students how to conceptualize, create and produce museum exhibits. She has numerous years in the museum field as Director, Curator of Collections and Researcher. She has also worked to develop educational programming in museums.
