Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS)

The Master of Arts in Liberal Studies Program at Wichita State University is a graduate level program which allows students to pursue interdisciplinary study integrating coursework and research from several disciplines. The MALS Program is designed for students who find traditional programs either too specialized or insufficiently individualized. Students in the MALS Program develop their own plans of study under the supervision of graduate faculty members in the fields they have selected.

Wichita State University has offered a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies since 1978, and is the only Kansas Regents' institution with full membership in the Association of Graduate Liberal Studies Programs.
