THE BERLIN EXPERIENCE

The Graduate Studies in Business department is excited to offer students an international component as part of their MBA experience.  In spring 2010, students who plan to take MGMT 885 will have the option to choose a special international section.  In this section, Barton School MBA students will work as part of a team with students from the Berlin School of Economics in Berlin, Germany.   The WSU 885 students will travel to Berlin early in the semester to meet with Berlin School teammates. Berlin teammates will then come to Wichita to complete the project in late March.

Cost/Travel Arrangements

Students will pay the traditional tuition and fees for the MGMT 885 class pluss a $200 additional special course fee.   The Barton School of Business will pay round-trip airfare for all MBA students participating in this trip. Students will be required to pay for their own lodging, food, and incidentals while in Berlin.   Estimated out-of-pocket expense for the trip will be approximately $1000-$1500 (double occupency).

 

All WSU travelers will be staying in the same hotel in Berlin and all group members will be traveling together.

Since the Berlin experience is part of the 885 class curriculum and class will be held while in Berlin, NO spouses, family, or other non-students will be permitted on the trip. 

Tentative schedule details

January 8-16 -- WSU MBA students travel to Berlin

January 19 -- First day of WSU Classes

March 20 -- Meet Berlin teammates in Wichita

March 26 -- Final project presentation

Mid/Late April -- Final 885 class meeting**

**Because this class meets a week in Berlin, it will end earlier in the semester.

The Berlin MGMT 885 class will only have a limited number of students.   In order to hold a spot for you, you must complete an enrollment form .  The deadline for reserving a place in this class and trip will be Sept. 19, 2009.
