Forum Series

The Entrepreneurship Forum Series for Business Ownership, presented by Meritrust Credit Union, is a free series dedicated to providing community members and students insights into entrepreneurship through presentations by and panels of local and national entrepreneurs. Previous speakers include Barnett C. Helzberg, Jr., from Helzberg Diamonds and the Helzberg Entrepreneurial Mentoring Program; Jimmy John Liautaud, founder of Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwich Shops; George Laham, president of Laham Development; and Maxine Clark, founder of Build-A-Bear Workshop.

The Forum Series is free and open to the public.

Thursday, March 6

Eat, Drink and Get Gorgeous: Lessons from Serial Entrepreneurs
Featuring: Eric Fisher and Schane Gross

Eric Fisher is the owner of Eric Fisher Salon, a brand that has expanded throughout the years to become one of the elite salons in the nation known for the spirit of authentic beauty. Fisher also owns Eric Fisher Academy, a cosmetology school that specializes in cosmetology and esthetics programs and teaches the latest techniques in hair and skin care.

Schane Gross is the owner of The Anchor Bar and Grill and Douglas Avenue Chop Shop. The Anchor is a local establishment that offers great food and an assortment of craft beer. The Douglas Avenue Chop Shop will open on March 1, 2014. The Chop Shop will sell Creekstone products and other high end meats.

Visit with the founder of Rent-A-Center and Flint Hills National Golf Club and investor in many businesses. The program will be followed by a free reception in the lobby of Devlin Hall to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Devlin Hall.
