Welcome from Lou Heldman, Interim Director

The Center for Entrepreneurship exists to advance business creation and economic growth through quality graduate, undergraduate and continuing education, research, community involvement and promotion of free enterprise.

We draw our strength from the talents and dedication of faculty and staff; the drive of students to learn and succeed; our association with the W. Frank Barton School of Business and the larger university; and the support of our alumni and the Kansas business community.

We strive to deliver:

  • Experience-based learning to equip students with skill sets and attitudes to achieve success in businesses they create or lead.
  • Continuing education and consulting to fuel the Kansas economy.
  • Expertise to foster development and commercialization of intellectual property.
  • Communication and activities to instill and celebrate the ideals of entrepreneurship.

We stand on the shoulders of founding Professor and Dean Fran Jabara, whose vision led to the creation of the Center as one of the first of its kind, among the most respected in the nation. The generosity of Tom and Myra Devlin and many others gave us a home in Devlin Hall, one of the most striking buildings on campus. We hope you'll visit us as a student, a continuing education program participant, guest speaker, or at one of public events held throughout the year.
