Entrepreneur Connection

The primary purpose of Entrepreneur Connection is to educate, network and develop students, the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders, through the sharing of desires and experiences from accomplished local entrepreneurs and business leaders. Through this program, students will be able to gain insight into the necessary elements required to become a successful entrepreneur from successful entrepreneurs and business leaders in the community. Entrepreneur Connection is sponsored by the Center for Entrepreneurship. 

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

• To promote networking and emphasize the benefits of a professional network between students and entrepreneurs
• To allow students to connect what they learn in class with what entrepreneurs experience in the business world
• To put students face-to-face with successful entrepreneurs 

Entrepreneurs selected are successful Wichita community entrepreneurs who are willing to provide experience, insight, wisdom and guidance to the next generation of emerging entrepreneurs. They are leaders with entrepreneurial business experience that are or have been business owners or top level executives. Entrepreneurs help educate students by sharing lessons learned from successes and failures while allowing students to ask questions. Entrepreneurs will take 2-5 students to lunch.

The Entrepreneur’s role is to share lessons from past experiences that will help students learn from their experiences which will help students make better decisions when critical issues face their possible start-ups. Entrepreneurs embody successful role models for students by offering guidance in careers, all while focusing on the developmental and attitudinal needs for a successful career.

Students will be able to establish a connection with professionals as well as expand their professional network. Students will learn tips that will help them develop into stronger leaders with stronger business insights in addition to building a strong network of contacts with local CEOs and business leaders. Students can gain insight into the businesses and industries they from entrepreneurs experiences.

Entrepreneurs benefit because not only do they learn new ideas from students as students learn from them, but they are also able to help potentially influence the next generation of community and business leaders. The Center for Entrepreneurship invites entrepreneurs to participate and contribute their time and experience to helping the next generation of entrepreneurs learn and grow.
