Welcome to the Center for Entrepreneurship, located in Devlin Hall, Wichita State University. The WSU Center faculty, staff, and students are passionate about entrepreneurship and the impact it has in the region. The Center for Entrepreneurship offers a wide range of activities, programs, speakers, and initiatives. Here at the Center we harness the wisdom, experience, and perspective of the business community and our alumni. We provide our students with opportunities to participate in student organizations, quality advising and internships as well as scholarship assistance to students.

2010 Shocker Business Plan Competition & Kansas Community College Business Plan Challenge

Bitmap ImageThe Shocker Business Plan Competition is a state-wide business plan competition with students competing for a $10,000 prize! The competition is designed to encourage student innovation and venture creation by providing a forum in which students can present new business ideas to local business leaders, including entrepreneurs and investors.


The Kansas Family Business Forum

KFBF The Kansas Family Business Forum (KFBF) is a nationally recognized, highly-regarded membership organization of family business owners, their families and key employees. The Forum is designed to provide unique learning experiences to those involved with family businesses. Educational seminars bring owners, families and managers together to address issues of ownership and management succession, strategic planning, estate planning, family dynamics and family governance. Forum programming features a mix of national and local experts on family business issues.

The Fall 2009 Forum Series

Bitmap ImageThe fall Entrepreneurship Forum will focus on the start-up firm. Our first session will feature a panel of three talented entrepreneurs who will share their experiences in starting their own businesses. Our second program features Michael Chasen, co-founder and CEO of the billion-dollar software company, Blackboard. We finish the fall series featuring Joel Barker, internationally known author and speaker, who will share his ideas on the use of innovation to re-invent or start a business.
