Department of Physician Assistant

Welcome to the Department of Physician Assistant at Wichita State University. Established in 1972, our program is one of the oldest PA programs in the US and the only PA Program in the state of Kansas. Our faculty has over 100 years of combined clinical experience and over 80 years of experience in health care education. Together, our mission is to be a learning community dedicated to training excellent primary care physician assistants. It is our intent that the education and training received will prepare and encourage students to provide care in underserved areas where the need for health care is greatest. We strive to accomplish this mission by valuing students, integrating teaching, scholarship, practice and service while partnering with our community. Our graduates provide essential primary care services in many rural, underserved communities. In addition, our graduates are integral partners in many specialty physician practices and in the uniformed military services.
