
CHP Departmental Scholarships are specifically for students admitted to or enrolled in a professional program of the College of Health Professions at Wichita State University.
CHP Departmental Scholarship applications and scholarship criteria will be available in departmental offices by December 1st. Deadline dates are listed on the application. You should check with your department for their scholarship application as there may be additional requirements for their departmental scholarships. Students must submit applications to departmental offices by April 3th (April 24th for Dental Hygiene and April 10th for Nursing students). Students are notified by mail of their scholarship status.

The Brookings Scholarships are awarded annually. The amount is individually determined each year.
Criteria: a junior enrolled in a College of Health Professions professional program. Consideration will be given to the academic achievement, personal abilities, and moral standards of the recipient without regard to race, religion, national origin or financial need. Edith Garlock Scholarship
The Garlock Scholarships are awarded annually in the spring with funds available for the fall semester.
Criteria: enrollment in the College of Health Professions, high scholastic achievement, moral character and not addicted to the use of tobacco or alcoholic beverage.
Dr. Mary Blood Scholarship
Awards will be made without regard to financial need. Scholarships will be renewed annually until completion of professional program, upon application for renewal and continuing satisfaction of academic criteria for the student(s) degree program.
Criteria: full-time enrollment in a College of Health Professions professional program.
The William Foshee Scholarship ( unavailable ) will be awarded annually to a health professions student admitted to and enrolled full-time in a College of Health Professions undergraduate program. The amount awarded will be determined annually.
Criteria: enrolled full-time in a College of Health Professions undergraduate professional program, and the recipient must have a history of demonstrated commitment to the vision of the College of Health Professions, described in an essay of no more than 500 words. The essay must include evidence of personal service activity promoting the College's vision as well as the applicant's interpretation of the vision and its importance to the College. Scholarship award will be given without regard for financial need, race, religion, color, national origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, marital status, status as a Vietnam era veteran or disability.

Robert F. and Judith Malone Scholarship
Scholarships will be renewed automatically as long as the student maintains satisfactory academic progress.
Criteria: full-time enrollment in a College of Health Professions professional program and demonstration of financial need. Consideration will be given to high school performance and college potential, as indicated by aptitude tests and leadership qualities.
John G. and Barbara McClune Scholarship
Awards will be made without regard to financial need. Scholarships are renewed automatically if student maintains satisfactory academic progress.
Criteria: enrollment in a College of Health Professions professional program. Consideration will be given to high school performance, college potential, and leadership qualities.
Geney and Cramer Reed Endowed Scholarship
Awarded annually to a student admitted to one of the entry-level professional programs in the College of Health Professions and will be renewed automatically as long as the student maintains satisfactory academic progress.
Criteria: full-time student in a College of Health Professions professional program, financial need, and consideration will be given to high school performance and college potential, as indicated by aptitude tests and leadership qualities.
Paul Christopher and John Timothy Rose Memorial Scholarship
Scholarships will be awarded to College of Health Professions students employed in one of the Wesley Medical Center peri-natal or neo-natal special care units. Students must intend to concentrate career in the area of peri-natal and/or neo-natal care.
Criteria: minimum 2.5 GPA in the professional program, a short paragraph is requested stating current activities and future plans to be sent to the donor family, and a letter of recommendation from head of Wesley peri-natal unit.
Sam and Rosemary Sherr Scholarship
Awards will be made with regard to financial need. Scholarships may be renewed automatically for up to three years.
Criteria: undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a College of Health Professions professional program. Consideration will be given to collegiate performance and college potential, as indicated by aptitude tests and character.
Vera and Skip Skelton Scholarship
Scholarships awarded to students enrolled in a College of Health Professions professional program.
Mary Varhanik Scholarship
Scholarships awarded to students enrolled in a College of Health Professions professional program.
New to Wichita State
For students new to Wichita State in Fall semester, the application form for admission to the University includes the scholarship application. Priority deadline for scholarships for new freshman is January 15. Priority deadline for transfer students is February 13. Scholarship applications for students are available in the Office of Admissions.
